Connecticut Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership
The CT CWRP was established in 2000 to facilitate important wetland restoration projects in the state through a public-private partnership. The CT CWRP is one of X chapters across the country, with the mission to stop and reverse the degradation of America's wetlands and other aquatic habitats. The Connecticut Corporate Wetlands Restoration Partnership (CT CWRP) is a private-public initiative that brings together corporations, state and federal regulatory agencies, academia, conservation groups, community groups, towns, cities and more to restore degraded wetlands and other aquatic habitat. The CT CWRP, established in 2000, is one of a developing national network of state CWRP chapters that facilitate such projects at both coastal and inland locations. The key to CT CWRP's success is that CT CWRP donations help unlock federal funds for local projects. Without CT CWRP's contributions of private capital and in-kind services, large amounts of federal money would be unavailable for these worthy projects. Though CT CWRP's contributions are modest in value, they are essential to obtaining matching federal funds for Connecticut's wetlands restoration projects. Since our inception, the CT CWRP has helped open the door to nearly $3,000,000 in federal funds for Connecticut wetland restoration projects. Nationally, on average, every $1 of corporate contribution can bring up to $3 in federal matching monies.
